SEO, AEO and GEO in Bangkok are usually priced as a monthly retainer, with the fee set by scope: how many pages and languages, how competitive the market is, how much content is written, and whether AI-search work is included. Ask every agency for a written “from” price and a list of monthly deliverables, then compare scope, not just the number.

“How much does SEO cost?” is one of the most common questions we hear, in Thai and English. It is also one of the hardest to answer in a sentence, because two quotes with the same headline price can include completely different work. This guide explains how SEO, AEO and GEO are priced in Bangkok, what drives the cost up or down, and how to compare quotes so you know what you are paying for.
We are an agency, so we have an interest in this topic. We have tried to keep the guide useful whoever you hire. Our own SEO services start from ฿12,000/month; we always quote as a “from” price plus a written scope.
What is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO, and does it change the price?
- SEO (search engine optimization) improves how your pages rank in classic search results: technical health, content, internal links and links from other sites.
- AEO (answer engine optimization) makes your pages easy for answer engines, such as Google’s AI Overviews, to quote: answer-first writing, question headings, tables and structured data.
- GEO (generative engine optimization) works on how generative AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity describe and cite your brand: entity clarity, consistent business details and credible off-site mentions.
AEO and GEO build on SEO rather than replacing it, so they are usually priced as an add-on or a combined package. For a fuller explanation, read what AI SEO means. If an agency sells AEO or GEO without fixing basic SEO problems first, be cautious: AI answers draw on pages that are indexable in the first place.
How are SEO services priced in Bangkok?
There are four common models:
| Pricing model | How it works | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly retainer | A fixed fee each month for an agreed list of deliverables | Ongoing growth, most businesses | Vague deliverables, long lock-in |
| One-off project | A fixed fee for a defined job, such as an audit or site migration | Fixing a specific problem | No follow-through after delivery |
| Hourly or daily consulting | You pay for an expert’s time | In-house teams that need guidance | Hard to budget |
| Performance-based | Fees tied to rankings or traffic | Rarely a good fit | Encourages risky tactics and ranking promises |
Most SEO in Bangkok is sold as a monthly retainer, often with a minimum term. A one-off audit or setup project at the start is common, followed by the retainer.
What drives the cost up or down?
The same “SEO package” can cost very different amounts because the work behind it differs. These are the main cost drivers:
- Competition. Ranking for “seo company bangkok” takes more work than ranking for a niche service in one district.
- Site size and condition. A 20-page site with clean code costs less to maintain than a large online shop with technical issues.
- Languages. A bilingual Thai and English site adds a second set of content and checks, and needs hreflang set up correctly.
- Content volume. Articles, service pages and rewrites are often the biggest cost. Ask how many pieces per month and who writes them.
- Off-site work. Earning mentions and links through PR, partners and directories takes time. Bought links are cheaper and against Google’s rules.
- AEO and GEO scope. Prompt tracking, answer-first rewrites, entity work and AI-specific reporting add hours each month.
- Reporting and access. A monthly call and a clear report cost time but make the work accountable.
What should a monthly fee include?
Whatever the price, a credible monthly retainer should spell out:
| Area | What to expect in writing |
|---|---|
| Technical SEO | Regular crawl, fixes list, Search Console monitoring |
| On-page | Which pages are optimized each month |
| Content | Number and type of pieces, who writes and reviews them |
| Off-site | How mentions are earned, with no paid link schemes |
| AEO / GEO (if included) | Prompt panel, answer-first rewrites, structured data, AI-feature reporting |
| Reporting | A monthly report with Search Console, GA4 and AI metrics |
| Ownership | You own the content, accounts and data |

Why are some SEO quotes so cheap, and others so expensive?
Very low quotes usually cut one of three things: content (little or none written), off-site work (replaced with bought links), or reporting (rankings only). Very high quotes may include more content and senior time, or they may simply reflect the agency’s brand. Neither tells you much on its own.
Google’s own guide, Do you need an SEO?, suggests questions to ask before hiring, and warns against anyone who guarantees rankings. We agree: no agency, including us, can promise a position on Google or a mention in AI answers. Our guide on how to choose an SEO company in Bangkok covers the rest of the selection process.
How long before SEO, AEO and GEO pay off?
Budget for months, not weeks. Technical fixes can be picked up as soon as Google recrawls your pages. New content and off-site mentions usually take longer to show results. In our own work, measurable change has shown up in the first 30-day comparison on some sites, but timelines depend on the starting point and competition. How should you compare SEO quotes?
Put each quote into the same simple table before you look at the price:
| Question | Agency A | Agency B | Agency C |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starting price and minimum term | |||
| Pages optimized per month | |||
| Content pieces per month | |||
| Languages covered | |||
| Off-site work method | |||
| AEO / GEO included? | |||
| What is reported monthly? | |||
| Ranking or AI guarantees? (should be “no”) | |||
| Who owns the work if you leave? |
Then divide the price by the scope. A higher fee that includes four articles in two languages can be better value than a lower fee with none. You can also see how agencies in the city position themselves in our list of the best SEO agencies in Bangkok.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a standard SEO price in Bangkok?
No. Prices vary with competition, site size, languages, content volume and whether AEO and GEO are included. Ask for a written “from” price and compare the scope behind it.
Is AEO or GEO more expensive than SEO?
They usually add to the cost of SEO rather than replace it, because they need extra work such as answer-first rewrites, prompt tracking and entity work. Some agencies bundle all three.
Should I pay for SEO based on results?
Be careful. Performance-based fees tied to rankings encourage risky shortcuts, and no one controls Google’s rankings. Paying for agreed work with clear reporting is safer.
Can I do SEO myself to save money?
Yes, for the basics. Google’s Search Central documentation covers much of what a small site needs. An agency becomes worth it when you lack the time, the competition is high, or you need AEO, GEO and bilingual work.
